What does it mean when the babies head is 8 weeks but the body is only 6?
My sister is pregnant and went to the doctor. She is 8 weeks along and they couldn’t find a heartbeat the doctor said the babies head is 8 weeks and the body is only 6. Does this mean she could of possibly had a miscarriage? She has to go back this week for another ultrasound.
It does happen sometimes. In most cases the baby catches up in growth in all areas. However if they couldnt find the heartbeat in the sonogram, perhaps the sonogram machine was a bit faulty, or the baby is in a poor position. They had a hard time finding all my babys heart chambers, but he wasnt cooperating. The next week it was fine. Another thing is she could be earlier than they thought, in which case it would definitely be harder to find the heartbeat, but in a week it should be ok. Good Luck.
