i have skype and my problem is that he says he hears static for 10-15 seconds, then it clears up 4 10-15?
is it possible that all my electrical components , such as speakers,,AVR,, cam,,modem,,and a 6 plug outlet that almost everything plugs into ,,are to close to each other ,,i have a flat screen 19 inch,,my cam sits on top of the screen,,,everything is about 24 inches of the screen,,,i have a wireless mouse and key board also, i use a good headset , so,, when i am talking to my brother ,,he says that at first he can hear me good than about 15 seconds later ,he is talking but i can’t hear him ,,he types that its just scratchy ,,like static,,then all of a sudden he can hear me good again ,,for about 15-20 seconds ,,then it goes bad again ,,it does that all the time we are trying to talk,,i have checked all my settings on skype ,,and it says that i have all the right settings for my audio,,,can some one please help me with this ,,,and maybe tell me what to do to correct it ,,thank you ,,,mike

Anyway, check your microphone using the sound recorder program. (Start> All Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Sound Recorder)
When replaying the audio, if it is static like it is on Skype, then it might be your microphone or where it plugs in. Try plugging the microphone in the other microphone jack, which is the pink slot on the back of the computer.
If, however, the audio on the recorder is clear, it might be your internet connection that is causing the problems.
