Need a cheap camera mast at least 30 feet tall?
Want to take panorama shots for quicktime VR. Collapsible metal poles are very expensive. Any cheap ways to make a tall camera mount?
I am no expert, but a 30 foot mast is going to be very, very wobbly. I looked at the video on that bamboo pole site and I got seasick.
Don’t really see how you are going to get useful photos at all from such a tall single pole. It’s gonna sway all over the place. I would not put a fancy camera on that contraption.
Maybe three bamboo poles to make a sort of tripod would work, but then how are you going to turn the camera to get your panarama? Maybe with a string and a pully somehow.
If the camera is small enough you could use a few helium ballons on a kite string I suppose. The camera would probably twist in the wind and you could get your circle of photos.
