thankyou if you can help me choose
The D3000 is definitely a better camera. I recently bought the D3000, and during the purchase I had to opportunity to test out the P100 and the Pentax K-x, and I can tell you that there is an disparate difference when in comes to the D3000 and the P100, ultimately making the D3000 the more buy-able choice by a wide margin.
The advantage and edge that you get from choosing the D3000 and P100 comes down to two important aspects: one, the architectural advantage, and then the two, the component advantage.
Architecturally, the D3000 is a DSLR. This means that there is a mechanical shutter and mirror system built inside the body of the D3000, and these functions are all engineered so that the camera can bring about extreme performance- especially when it comes to shutter speed. The benefits of using DSLR cameras are immediately palpable when you get to try one- you’ll realize that the speed, focus and coloration of your photos will increase dramatically. And because it’s a DSLR platform, that means that you can get extra lens, flash, or accessories (such as straps) that will add perks to its photo quality and style.
Component-wise, its also another hands-down win for the D3000. With the D3000 you’re getting a 10.2 megapixel CCD sensor compared to a CMOS on the P100. Not only does the CCD yield more vibrant, detailed photos, but you’ll also see that photos take less time to take. Furthermore, in the D3000, you’re in control- you move the lens, you control the zoom, and you can make these adjustments on-the-fly. The ability to change zoom, change the focus, allows you to unleash your creativity upon whatever you take- and be able to do that in a matter of seconds, leading to more animated, experimental and sharper images.
Any DSLR has a considerable advantage than a superzoom- in arenas most critical to photo-taking, such as photo quality, speed, and personalization. Whether you’re an amateur photographer embarking on your first foray into professional photo-taking, or a creative mastermind endeavoring in a new way of demonstrating your creative genius, the DSLR will be the superior choice.
