What video editing software should I buy?
I’m looking for both a free small editing software as well as an intermediate to advanced editing software.
The free one can be anything really, just not a bugged site or virus loaded.
I’m looking for a software that will allow me to advance my editing skills and not have to buy a new one for a long while. Also, one that I don’t need a membership or monthly fee to use all of its features. It also needs multiple tracks for sound and video, with good transition and line marking capabilities.

For free, you can use Windows Movie Maker directly.
But it support little AVI and WMV videos only. Most HD videos can not be edited.
What I am using is this one:

It can work just like WMM, with track for title, sound and videos. It is not a bad choice for the begining users.
