What camera is better for portraits; Canon EOS Xsi , Xti or Nixon d80?
I LOVE photography , and especially shooting portraits. I am open to any other suggestions but I have narrowed it down to those 3; Canon EOS Xsi, Xti or Nixon d80. It would be great if you could say from a person experience with these cameras and pros and cons would be great ! thanks !
All of those cameras would be good for portraits – what matters is the lens!! And good lighting…
Portraits are best shot with a prime lens – a 50mm f1.4 or 1.8 or a 85mm f1.8 are both excellent portrait lenses. The wide aperture will allow a shallow depth of field which will help to isolate the subject from the background.
Try to avoid on camera flash for portraits – its a small light source which is on axis therefore it will give harsh, flat lighting. Natural light or off camera flash is best, with reflectors if necessary.
