Can I replace my 12V “Orange Top” Fisher Price toy car battery with a standard 12V battery?
The Fisher Price battery is supposed to have a thermal resetting device to protect the motor from overheating. Is this mostly a gimmick so you have to spend the extra money on theirs? I have never seen it trip out due to overload heating.
I appreciate any help.
If it’s installed then you need it for a reason. Putting in a standard 12 volt will burn out the drive motor. The amperage is what controls the battery quality. Buy what’s needed not
what’s cheaper.
