Help with my new Fujifilm Finepix S2550HD?

I received my new Fujifilm Finepix S2550HD today.
I was taking pictures of random things when all of a sudden it shut off.
I attributed this to the batteries. Checked them, but they were practically new…
I tried it again, still nothing. Then I hit it softly on the side and it turned ON.
I hit it again and it shut down once more.
So has anyone else had this problem with a Fuji camera. Should I send it back or is it fixable?

You already know how to fix it, why go to great lengths to get another one like it? Fujifilm cameras are great to use but have low build quality. You get exactly what you pay for.
