Machine that loads from the top. A top loader is like a sleeve, but it is a little stiffer and a little thicker. Sports cards can be protected from creases and being bent by using it. The drawback with a top-loader, however, is that dust and other particles can get inside. It has a little bit of room which allows the card to move around. When shipping a card using a top-loader, you can use a resealable sports card bag that will enclose the entire top-loader.
Semi-rigid card holder. The plastic case is thicker than common sleeves and more flexible than a top loader. It prevents the card from slipping around when you mail it. This case does a great job of showing off your prized sports cards even inside a display case.
Card holder, screwed down. Your valuable cards will be protected from damage of all kinds (i.e. scratches, bending, creasing) by this hard, clear plastic sports card case. Your card gets secured firmly in the case by being screwed down at each corner. When choosing a case, be warned that there have been cases where the design stuck to the case, especially after being in one for a long time. Be careful to choose a case of the correct thickness for your cards.
Case that attracts like magnet. In place of the screw down holder you can use a magnetic case too. It provides comparable protection to the screw-down holder, but instead of the four screws locking the card, it only uses one circular magnet on the upper part of the case. It’s a good option for displaying valuable sports cards because of its design feature.
Holder made of acrylic. This is both the most costly and the thickest of all the sports card cases available. It offers the ultimate protection for your valuable sports cards with up to an inch of acrylic.
Organize your sports cards in boxes
Other valuable cards you intend to display should be kept organized in a box. A shoe box will do or you may also buy prefabricated sports cards boxes available in most specialty shops and in supply stores. Sorting trays are also available to keep your collection better organized. You should always protect your sports cards before you store them in a box. Always protect your valuable cards using at least a top-loader. Plastic sleeves are sufficient storage for your other collectible sports cards.
