when should i use an ovulation kit?
I have brought an ovulation kit waiting for it to come when is the best time to do it, my first day of my period was 4th july and finished on the 9th july, i just cant get to grips with all the working out when to do ovulation test, any help would be greatfully recieved,
Ovulation is supposed to be around 14 days before your next period, though it can be between 12-16 days. If you’ve got pretty regular periods, you can probably guess the soonest that ovulation is likely to occur and should begin the OPKs around 4 days before that date. Keep using the tests until you get a definite positive result followed by a negative. The date of the negative would then be your presumed ovulation date. Be sure to make a note of this for next cycle, and eventually you’ll get a good idea of when to start the OPKs each month.
If you have irregular cycles (which is often the reason women begin using OPKs,) you’ve got a trickier job timing the tests. I’d Google ‘EWCM’ and read up on how to identify that. When you get it, begin the tests. Finally, you need to wait a few hours in the morning before testing, as the LH needs time to build up in your urine. Don’t test first thing; 10am or 11am would be better (or lunchtime). And test every day. Don’t try and save money by testing every other day — that simply won’t work
