HELP! In need of guidance for lomography.?
Firstly, as a newbie, I don’t know whether I should buy a digital lomo (Nico Digi) or the film one (Holga 135BC). The Nico Digi uses a memory card, right? So, I was thinking that maybe if the first time I try out the camera and the pictures didn’t work, I could at least have a choice in developing the photos. But then, I hesitated and thought that maybe I should buy the original lomo camera, which uses films because it’s always the original ones that are the best. I’m not sure of the prices in developing the photos and I’m afraid it might be costly to continue learning about lomography. So, I’m stuck in between now.
And are there special techniques I should know of while learning to use a lomo camera? Or I just snap them, whenever and whatever I like? Thanks in advance.
I had to google the Nico Digi, never heard of it before.

It’s a 1.3mp camera. I’d stop right there, but it cost’s $80. I’d stop right there. It’s a keychain cam, I’d stop right there.
http://www.fourcornerstore.com/ Probably the best lomo camera online retailer that I know of. They’re having a sale on the original Holga, the 120 version. Sure you need to buy 120 film, but any walmart will process it for just a couple of bucks, add a CD (you can get a 10mp scan from 120 film without even trying hard) and I think it comes out to $5. Plus you get to use whatever speed film you can get your hands on, and being 120 it has a lot less “noise” above ISO 200 than that digital camera will and ISO 3200 is usable.
They also have the 135 version for just a bit more, and tons of cheap film.
I’d skip the digi cam. If you’re trying for the LOMO “experience” then go with film. Otherwise you’re just buying a crappy digi cam. Plus that digi cam doesn’t look nearly as stylish as a Holga, a Gakken, a Blackbird Fly, a Smena, or even something like a Quad Cam.
If you want a digital holga, buy a digital camera and pull plastic wrap over the lens. Then when you need a regular digi cam you can just pull it off.
