Is it possible to make a non-working fireplace functional?
We are looking at a house that has a non-working fireplace (there is a chimney) and we were wondering if it’s possible to convert it back into a working fireplace or if it’s a lost cause. The current owners have lived there 1.5 years and have no idea when the chimney was last cleaned. What is the process here, if there is one? Thanks!
My first step would be to call in a chimney cleaner. If you can’t get the fireplace to work afterward, just buy a fireplace table – you can use it indoors or outdoors, and you can put a top on it when not in use and it makes a great coffee table!
