how do i install windows xp pro on an imac g4 powerpc? do i need a kit only? or do i need to buy winx pro also?
they sell kits on ebay to download, some kits are for intel macs and some are for powerpc macs. do i only use the kit or do i need to buy a cd for microsoft windows xp pro?
You can’t actually do it on a PowerPC. Not natively. You would have to try and run some kind if emulation, and with only a G4 to power it, wow would it be slow (if it even ran at all). PowerPC architecture is way different than Intel architecture (look up RISC vs CISC). This makes a huge difference on the way the operating systems are written. Translating the code is not a simple task. So you can’t install Windows on Macs that old.

Oh and yes, you do need to own a copy of Windows in order to install or virtualize it. At least if you want to do so legally.
