What is the best digital camcorder for under $550? (see clarification for specifications)?
It is going to be used inside of a race car and for other events (family gatherings, etc).
I would like it to be as easy to use as possible and would prefer it to record to a hard-disk and MiniDV tapes if possible. (I am not sure of the advantages of each). The important thing is that each start/stop or the recording creates a new video file that can be saved to my website.
It needs to have a remote control so I can start/stop recording from inside the cockpit of the car without turning around (remote would be taped on steering wheel).
Construction needs to be rugged and durable and the camera should have good recording even in a vibrating race car.
I would prefer a reputable brand like JVC or Sony.
