If you’re looking for a great camera that can take high quality images indoors without a flash, consider the Canon PowerShot S90. It is common for camera makers to create a line of cameras that has a specific strong selling point or feature. The S90 performs great in low-light conditions with its wide angle lens and ability to capture subtle object details. Many people also enjoy being able to use the large display to view their photos.
This is a great camera for those that like to have more control over their photographic compositions. You can manually control the aperture, sensitivity, and the shutter speed. The easy to use interface, in addition to everything else, makes this camera a great choice. The next camera up for review is Canon’s PowerShot SD870 IS. While many features are quite similar to the SD850 IS, there are some notable cosmetic differences. There is a slight increase in specs such as an 8.3 megapixel sensor, plus the LCD is slightly larger at three inches. The Digic III image processor, which is a new image processor is some of the most advanced technology the camera has to offer. Autofocus is able to work with the face detection feature to detect as many as nine faces at once. There is an updated version of the multicontroller pad which has proven to be more responsive than before plus better ergonomics.
The last camera we’ll be looking at is the Canon PowerShot S95 which comes with lots of manual features for those who like to work with their hands. The photos this little gem produces are gems themselves. It’s an ultra-compact digital with a more reasonable 10 megapixels, includes a multimedia card, SD memory card, and a 3 inch LCD. It use the pop-up variety of flash. Many of these great features were brought forward from the S90. For the S95, they improved the video resolution to 720p. Another feature is you can now capture up to three photos at different intervals of exposure. The camera uses these captured photos to give you one photo with more detail in all respects.
So many terrific digital pocket sized cameras with fabulous features, so little time. We’re seeing a lot of follow up designs now to correct the shortcomings that weren’t noticeable until after production. But that is fine with many people, and us, as well.
